Terms and conditions
The terms on which Project Passport is provided.
The service
Project Passport provides tools to create, organise, maintain and securely share building project and property improvement records. It does not carry out inspections, issue certificates, approve building work or verify workmanship.
Accounts
You are responsible for the accuracy of your account details, for keeping your credentials secure, and for the actions of users you invite to a Passport.
Accuracy of records
Users are responsible for the accuracy and completeness of the information they upload. Project Passport does not independently verify uploaded documents. Completeness scores indicate which expected records are present in a Passport and are not a statement of legal or regulatory compliance.
No professional advice
Nothing in the service constitutes legal, conveyancing, structural, building control, valuation or other professional advice, and it does not replace conveyancing searches, surveys or due diligence.
Ownership and control
You retain ownership of the content you upload and grant us the permissions needed to host and display it for you. Ultimately the property owner controls the Passport for their property. At handover, control passes to the homeowner and the builder retains an appropriate historical record subject to permissions and retention settings.
Sharing
Links you create are your responsibility. You choose the sections shared, whether a password applies, and any expiry date, and you can revoke a link at any time.
Subscriptions and payment
Plans, allowances and fair-use storage limits are described on the pricing page. Fees are payable in advance, subscriptions renew until cancelled, and prices may change with reasonable notice.
Acceptable use
Do not upload unlawful content, content you have no right to share, malicious files, or personal data about others without a lawful basis. We may suspend accounts that put the service or other users at risk.
Availability and liability
The service is provided on a reasonable-efforts basis and may be unavailable during maintenance. Users should retain their own copies of critical documents. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Termination and governing law
You may close your account at any time and export your records first. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
